Position: Nurse

JOB SUMMARY

A Nurse, or Registered Nurse, will be responsible for supporting Physicians in administering patient care. Their duties will include providing the correct dosage of medicine to patients, administering IVs based on their patients’ conditions and monitoring their patients’ vitals to ensure they have the proper blood pressure or heart rate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
  • Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  • Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Administering non-intravenous medications.
  • Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  • Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.

 

Job Specification:

  • Diploma /degree in Nursing
  • Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a medical field especially in the NGO sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful applicant will have a bachelor degree, at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in research project management, managerial and organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for the conduct of human research.

Specific Responsibilities

  • To assist the PIs and study coordinator in planning, management and supervision of the research operations, ensuring that the study is carried out to the highest international standards
  • To assist in developing and maintaining an excellent consultative relationship with local government authorities where the study is taking place.
  • To develop and regularly update standard operating procedures in accordance with the study protocol
  • To train the research assistants on the conduct of research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in the study protocol
  • Lead the field research teams including the research assistants, research nurses and research clinicians
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports and publications and presentations at national meetings
  • Participate in developing the capacity of junior project staff
  • Promote LMFAR and its core values, and play a supportive role in the delivery of its day-to-day operations and strategic goals
  • Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be expected by the PIs and Study Coordinator 

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in related health field
  • At least 1 -yearexperience in coordinating field research activities
  • Experience working in research involving adolescents
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili
  • Trained on GCP with appropriate certificate

Desirable Qualifications

  • Managerial and organizational skills
  • Commitment to working as part of a multidisciplinary research team

Position: Administrative Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The administrative Assistant will be responsible for all day-to-day administrative and human resources-related activities in the division including reporting, logistics, and procurement activities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day follow-ups to ensure the actual implementation of new programs under the research division.
  • Coordinate and manage imprest request and retirement for project staff
  • Coordinate with other administrators to ensure smooth flow of activities and that all the projects get the support they need.
  • Administrative Support i.e. Photographing, Scanning and printing if needed
  • Preparation for and providing logistical support to ensure the success of all major scientific meetings conducted internally.
  • Coordinate the development of quarterly scientific reports from the research division, and ensure effective communication of the same with all scientists.
  • Scan, file, mail and populate the required documents accordingly.
  • Ensure participant privacy and confidentiality are maintained
  • Ensuring patient compensation and transportation of Schedule and Unscheduled Visit
  • Cooperate with all Facility staff.
  • Performs any related duties as requested.

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma in Public/Business Administration/Sociology or any related field
  • Should be computer literate with basic managerial skills.
  • The applicant must have 1-year experience in clinical research
